Locations

The story of the Söhnergroup began in 1966 as the Walter Söhner company in Schwaigern near Stuttgart. The initial location in Schwaigern was followed  by further sites: in 1992, the Steffen Söhner GmbH near Dresden, in 1993, the Waldon Ltd. in Great Britain, in 1997, the GRW Technologies, Inc. in the USA, in 2004, the addex ag in Switzerland and the Soehner Technologie (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in China and in 2005, the SK Technologie GmbH in Rainholdshein. In 2007, the SK Technology was merged with the Steffen Soehner GmbH to achieve organisational synergies.

Technology

In the technological area, the Söhnergroup has continued to develop. Whereas when the company was founded, the focus was on tool and mold construction, the spectrum expanded to sample and mass production, reel-to-reel processing and punching/stamping technology areas. In the company history, over 11,000 injection molding tools, over 750 stamping dies and over 300 automatic assembly lines and inspection/testing facilities were constructed. The current machinery includes, among other things, 100 conventional machine tools, 45 CNC machining centers, 165 injection molding machines and more than 30 production lines.

All together, the three pillars of the Söhnergroup corporate policy result in a large vertical range of manufacture, a large diversification and global placement. Added to the high and certified quality standards as well as economical professionalism, the Söhnergroup demonstrates a powerful potential and the very best prospects for the future.
 

General information

“Cooperation” is a top priority at Söhner and this includes both the team work inside the company as well as outside it with our customers. To look at the customer as a partner means to be able to provide him with the best performance. Accordingly, the Söhnergroup offers highly qualitative complete solutions in many various single areas all under one roof. The spectrum ranges from advising to development, construction, production equipment construction, mass production, plastics technology, assembly technology, stamping technology to service. The customer can check the status of projects at any time and during the joint project, communication can be found on and with all levels.

Involving the 1,150 employees in the events of the business is the second aspect of our approach based on mutual cooperation. Here, we work permanently on in-house communication in order to promote the flow of information.
